Handling difficult conversations?

by | Oct 3, 2019

People perceive things differently and it’s important to acknowledge this. The other person needs to know how you feel, about having the conversation and about what you want to achieve.

  1. Talk about the impact this situation has had on you (and others)
  2. Ask how they feel?
  3. Acknowledge the part you have played
  4. Be collaborative not combative
  5. Stick with the facts
  6. Maintain eye contact
  7. Listen actively
  8. Take personal responsibility

And remember…

You should mutually focus on how you can avoid this happening again
